I don't know which vehicle, either production or otherwise, first came with an ECU (engine control unit - computer) or which was the last to come without one. However, I do know that the use of ECU's and electronic fuel injection in production road-going automobiles dates back to the 1970's, possibly earlier.

Over the years, there have been a number of mechanical fuel injection systems (especially in diesel engines, but also for gasoline [petrol] engines). In the 1980's there were a handful of cars equipped with carburettors and ECU's to fine-tune the spark ignition and possibly the fuel-air ratio as well. However, the predominant use of ECU's in cars is tied to the use of electronic fuel injection.

I did an engine re-build on a 1977 Nissan (Datsun) 280Z. It came with a factory installed electronic fuel injection (run by an ECU) system. These Japanese cars were (according to the repair manual) apparently being manufactured with ECU's and fuel injection since the mid-1970's.

I met a gentleman with a 1973 or '74 Mercedes 500 SL convertible. Factory electronic fuel injection. I've been told that some production German cars may have had electronic fuel injection as early as the 1960's, but I have never actually seen one up close (nor its repair manual and schematic diagrams).
