There's 3 computers in the house all running on xp pro, and there all linked to a router, at the moment only 2 computers that are linked to the network are set to file share. But, 2 days ago my mates brother came round and set everything up so i havnt a clue how to set it all up. I looked intomy net status and then properties, and theres all new things there like: ''file and printer sharing for microsoft networks'' and ''NWlink'' and ''Qos Packet sheduler'' etc...before it was just internet protocool, etc..i just need to connect 1 last computer to the network so that files can be shared and LAN games can happen..PLZ HELP!
Setting up a Lan Between 2-3 computers?computer repair
To play games across the network, all you need is the TCP/IP protocol.
To share files between machines, you need ''Client for Microsoft Networks'' and ''File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks''. On the new computer, you must set the same workgroup name as the other machines which are currently connected.
