Ebay, Why are the computers so cheap?

Firstly Why are the computers on ebay so cheap.

Secondally what can you people get the following two setups for price wise, i dont mind building so the bits are fine:

Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2.6 Ghz (per core) 2MB Cache

Asus M2N-E SLI nForce 500 Motherboard - Socket AM2

Geil 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400 800Mhz Ultra Dual Channely

NVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB DDR3 DUAL DVI

LiteOn DH-20A3H-06C 20x Dual Layer DVD卤RW/RAM Lightscribe

Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache

Computer two, i don't have the names or anything but:

Intel Quad Core - 2.4 or higher

2Gig of ram or more

500GB ram or more

a good graphics card... i don't know anything about them

and any random good lightscribe cd-drive

Most of the computers on eBay are cheap because they are re-manufactured. (usually)

Plus sometimes people buy p.c.'s and use them for a year or so until they are running like poo or don't know how to upgrade them or anything so they sell them for cheap on eBay.

I wouldn't buy a p.c. off of eBay.. I would be too worried I'd be buying a bigger piece o' crap there than I would from Best Buy or anywhere else.

WalMart has a sale for Black Friday ( might be today ) it's online or instore only on a Window's Vista Dell, for $498.00!

That's cheap! and a good deal on a Dell!
