I have ATT Yahoo DSL and I have it running on two computers one is connected to the modem and the other is connected thru the phone line with the 2wire pc port.
Here is the problem every like 2-3 weeks the other computer does not able to connect to the internet and i have to unplug all the wired out of the modem unplug the phone lines and replug everything back in and it is working just like new for another 2-3 weeks till this happens again, anyone have this problem or know why???

P.S. Please don't answers saying go wireless, etc... that is not an option for me right now.

Unfortunately sharing between two computers is a pain in the rear w/o a wireless router. what I think may be happening is that your IP address lease is expiring and refreshing on the modem but since you have two computers something not getting the new DSL address. You could do one of two things. Call ATT and see if they could issue you a "static" IP address which is an extra 2-3 bucks a month... Or get yourself a Netgear or Linksys wireless router and a USB wireless receiver for the computer that's not near the DSL modem $75.00 and you don have to worry about running cable around.
Either way, if you want to stop resetting everything your going to be spending some extra money.
Also. If it really is the IP address renewing then you just need to power off and on your modem for 10 seconds and reboot your computers. You don't have to go about removing cables like your doing now.

you might want to get a wireless modem. Then use a wireless router for the secound computer. It's funny that you have a dsl line and still a phone line going the secound computer lol
