How to cluster computers to finction as one PC?

I have three old laptops. Pentium II with 128 MB of RAM. CD drive... they all work perrfectly. Is there a way to connect them (through an ethernet or serial or other type) of connection to make them work as one PC? I'm pretty good with computers, but i have never built one before. this might be a unique experiance. i know that i will probably have to install some form of LINUX because windows cant really work in such an environment. Links to sites and stories of people who did this before are fine. THANKS

Well, No. Not as "one pc". Even if something like that were possible, ethernet or serial does not work fast enough or at the right layer.

You can use them as terminals on a server, or have them run different appplications for a server...but there really wouldn't be much use or sense using older laptops.

Parallel computing is fun to play with but you're not going to be able to make three computers function as one computer. What a cluster does is allow you to take a problem that can be broken down into smaller pieces and give each computer a piece to work on at the same time.

Try a live CD like ClusterKnoppix to try out the concepts.
