my plasma tv does not have a reciever so i can watch cable. i know it works with a cable box but thats 7 Dollers extra a month on my bill so i dont want it. im gonna buy a new computer anyways andi was wondering if that new tv tunner option on the HP computers can replace the cable box?? like does that tv tuner also have the receirver that my plasma doesnt??? or am i still screwed haha (when i bought this plasma i was unaware that it was only a moniter and not a actual tv with a receiver)
Can i use the new tv tunner computers from HP to watch tv on my 42" plasma moniter with no tv reciever ?virus
SURE you can.....IF you have HDMI on Both you can do it...Just make sure your HDMI on the %26gt;%26gt;computer%26lt;%26lt; is an OUTPUT and not an INPUT connector....
It's gotta be an output....and hopefully it's not an ADD on card where you have to figure out how it works...you want it preloaded by HP....
Other than that choice....I wouldn't want to mess with Video /Audio connections on any other type of connection....
Why ?
Well .....how do you direct AUDIO that normally goes to your soundcard, over to a TV CARD???
That's why HDMI works....and the others, well they are a pain....
And then that measly 7 dollars a month starts looking good for a box.....
LOOK.... when it REALLY comes down to Brass Tacks....You bought the Right type of TV....Because you KNEW instinctively that CABLE and Satellite systems actually REQUIRE the box for HD and Digital and PAY PER VIEW and the TV Guide AND DVR operations !! And that 7 dollars.....it's worth getting those capabilities...
I've got a HD-DVR unit that supplies recording to lesser costing Standard TV boxes in Verizon's system....so you ONLY rent what you need once for the entire system....then you pick the box for the TYPE of TV you have....
Sure it costs to rent....but when the box craps out, you get another one....
