Can I have 2 computers on the same cable with Internet on both?

Is it possible to have 2 computers connected to the same cable outlet, both with working internet? What supplies would I need? How would I go about doing that? Would it cost?

I have Comcast, if that is relevant to my question. Thank you for any help you can give.

We have 5 on one modem . It is very easy to do you can use cables to run the connection to all your pc's but we bought a wireless router which is great. But either way just get a router we are also on a cable modem and have had no problem. Just remember you need to make sure each pc' is reading the IP address of the modem for the main pc.

You can get a wireless router for around 60.00 . it is easy to use, we have 2 desk top puters and a laptop. all on the same router. Also have it hooked up to our T.V. that my son plays his internet games on.
They will each need their own cable, but they can both be on the internet at the same time. Your modem or router should have at least two spots to plug in to.
well it would be best to use a wireless router....Comcast will only 1 cable modem per address...You will be able to use the same highspeed..(ROUTER).The only thing they will let you have more than one of is....cable boxes......
I'm using a Cable Internet Provider. The ethernet cable, that went into my computer, now goes ino a Linksys 5 Port Network Hub,(Model NH1005), and I have two computers on it, connected to the internet. I believe, I can run four. Cost me about $50 at Walmart. Dude there told me it couldn't be done! He said many people returned this Hub, because they couldn't connect to the internet! LOL! I told him you need a router inbetween, and this would work. Had to go back, and set the poor fella straight! (Nicely, no irate stuff!)
Just get wireless internet, so you don't have to go through switching them around.
